| Opis: Album "Purple Rain", soundtrack do tak samo zatytułowanego filmu, w którym Prince zagrał, był pierwszym amerykańskim numerem jeden artysty na liście "Billboardu". Ukazał się w 1984 roku, a Książę nagrał piosenki z towarzyszącym mu wtedy zespołem The Revolution.
Szóste studyjne wydawnictwo Prince'a w USA sprzedało się w ponad 13 mln egzemplarzy, co dało mu status diamentowej płyty. Na świecie kupiono ponad 22 mln kopii dzieła. Płyta zdobyła dwie nagrody Grammy, w tym za najlepszy soundtrack, a także Oscara za najlepszą oryginalną piosenkę do filmu.
Wydanie deluxe zawiera pochodzący z 2015 roku tak zwany Paisley Park Remaster. Prince zdążył jeszcze nadzorować proces osobiście. Dysk drugi, From The Vault & Previously Unreleased to 11 utworów z archiwum artysty. Dodatkowo wydanie zawiera jeszcze jedno CD oraz płytę DVD. Kompakt to wydania singlowe i strony B singli.
Z kolei na DVD zapisano koncert Prince And The Revolution z Carrier Dome w Syracuse, w stanie Nowy Jork, z 30 marca 1985 roku. Zarówno dźwięk, jak i obraz zostały pieczołowicie odrestaurowane w studiu z oryginalnych taśm. Występ daje wyobrażenie, w jak wielkiej formie był wówczas artysta oraz towarzyszący mu muzycy.
Prince zmarł 21 kwietnia 2016 roku w wieku 57 lat. Artysta zdobył siedem nagród Grammy, Złoty Glob i Oscara. W 2004 roku został wprowadzony do Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
